Avaada Group has signed a MoU with the Water Resources Department of the government of Maharashtra to develop two major pumped storage hydro projects (PSHPs) with a total capacity of 3,650 MW. The agreement includes the development of the 2,400 MW Pawana Falyan pumped storage project (PSP) and the 1,200 MW Sirsala PSP.
The cumulative investment for these projects is reportedly estimated at Rs 151 billion. The initiative is expected to generate over 3,800 direct employment opportunities in the region. These PSPs will enhance Maharashtra’s energy security by enabling round-the-clock renewable power supply.
In March 2025, Avaada Group, through its subsidiary Avaada Energy, commissioned 5,200 MW of renewable energy across nine states, with 14,000 MW under long-term power purchase agreements and full operational capacity targeted by 2027.
