NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has issued a tender for the balance of system (BoS) package to support the development of 1,000 MW of solar projects across four blocks — two of 300 MW each and two of 200 MW each — in Bikaner, Rajasthan. According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to submit a bid security of Rs 50 million for one block, Rs 100 million for any two blocks, and Rs 200 million for three or all four blocks combined. The deadline for bid submission is May 16, 2025.
The scope of work includes the complete design, engineering, manufacturing, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar projects. Additionally, the selected developers will be responsible for arranging the power and water supply required for construction. They must also construct a pre-engineered inverter room equipped with power conditioning units, low-tension and high-tension switchgears. Moreover, the contractors will be expected to provide operations and maintenance services for the entire system and its electrical components, along with necessary consumables, for a period of three years.
According to the eligibility criteria, the bidders are required to have either commissioned BoS for a cumulative solar capacity of 40 MW, with at least one 10 MW system operational for six months, or to be developers of grid-connected solar projects meeting the same benchmarks. Alternatively, they must have executed an industrial project in sectors such as power, oil and gas, or cement within the last ten years. Non-renewable projects must have been operational for at least one year, and renewable ones for six months. Furthermore, they must have annual turnovers ranging from Rs 750 million to Rs 2.5 billion depending on project capacity, and a minimum net worth equivalent to 100 per cent of paid-up share capital in the last financial year.
