NHPC Limited has announced auction results for its 1,200 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects (Tranche-X), with an additional greenshoe option of 1,200 MW. Adani Renewable Energy won 600 MW at a tariff of Rs 3.41 per kWh. While, Illuminate Hybren (Mahindra Susten) and Sprng Vayu Vidyut (Sprng Energy) secured 240 MW and 150 MW, respectively, at a tariff of Rs 3.41 per kWh each, Avaada Energy was allocated 210 MW out of the 600 MW it had quoted, at a tariff of Rs 3.42 per kWh.
The hybrid projects will comprise both wind and solar components, with each component required to constitute at least 33 per cent of the total contracted capacity. The tender guidelines permit the solar installations to be located anywhere in India, allowing developers the flexibility to acquire or lease project land at their discretion.
Furthermore, to ensure technological reliability and efficient project execution, only commercially proven and operational technologies will be deployed. All wind turbines used must be listed in the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers, while solar modules must be registered under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
