Goldi Solar has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) powered solar module manufacturing line at its newly built facility in Kosamba, Surat, Gujarat. The facility, designed for a planned production capacity of 14 GW, is equipped with high-speed stringers capable of processing 10,000 cells per hour. AI-driven automation ensures consistency, minimises errors, and reduces material wastage. The manufacturing line also features an AI-powered automated optical inspection system for real-time quality control, using computer vision to detect defects at a microscopic level.
The facility also incorporates a fully integrated pre-lamination section with an automated EVA laying robot that optimises encapsulation placement, minimising human intervention and reducing inconsistencies. Additionally, AI-powered three-display electroluminescence and visual inspection systems for both front and back panels enhance defect detection. A three-stage auto laminator with double-side heating, combining electric and oil-based systems, improves panel strength and durability.
Furthermore, the manufacturing line includes an automated ICB elevate-lifting system with Teflon removal to optimise production efficiency. An inline double-layer high-potential tester ensures superior insulation and electrical safety. While an intelligent eight-bin auto sorting system leverages AI for precise module classification. Moreover, a manufacturing execution system enables live module monitoring and tracking.
