EDPR NA launches 100 MW solar park in Mississippi

EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA) has launched the 100 MW Ragsdale Solar Park (Ragsdale) in Madison Country, Mississippi. The project became operational in the fourth quarter of  2024 and will supply power directly to Entergy Mississippi’s transmission system. This project will provide sufficient energy to power around 15,700 homes in Mississippi annually.

Furthermore, Amazon has contracted for entire 100 MW capacity of the project through a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA).  The development of the solar park began in 2016 by Acadian Renewable Energy. EDPR NA acquired Ragsdale from Acadian in early 2022 and later completed the project’s development.

Earlier in May 2024, EDPR NA launched the 175 MW Crooked Lake Solar Park near Blytheville in Mississippi County, Arkansas. This project will produce sufficient energy to power around 30,000 homes in Arkansas annually. The project, situated on land leased from local landowners, will bolster Arkansas’ electric grid.
