Eastman Auto and Power Limited (EAPL) through its subsidiary, Eastman New Energy Private Limited, and MTOW Mobility Private Limited (Urja Mobility), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development and deployment of lithium-ion battery technology for India’s electric vehicle market. As part of this partnership, Urja Mobility has committed to sourcing over 20,000 lithium-ion batteries from Eastman to support its nationwide battery leasing initiatives.
Eastman will also integrate Urja Mobility’s IoT and software solutions into its lithium battery products, facilitating remote monitoring and analytics. By leveraging Eastman’s expertise in lithium-ion battery manufacturing and Urja Mobility’s battery leasing model, the partnership aims to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of electric transportation.
