Waaree Group has commenced construction of its alkaline electrolyser manufacturing facility in Valsad, Gujarat. The facility will initially operate with a production capacity of 300 MW and will cater to industries such as steel, refining, transportation, fertilisers, chemicals, food, and power generation, supporting their transition to decarbonised processes.
The factory will incorporate advanced equipment and manufacturing processes to produce high-efficiency and durable electrolysers for large-scale green hydrogen production. Designed for low power consumption and flexible operations, the electrolysers will be optimised for performance with minimal maintenance requirements. Additionally, the facility will include automated assembly lines for electrolyser stacks, ensuring precision and scalability.
Furthermore, Waaree has been awarded production-linked incentives for 300 MW of electrolyser manufacturing capacity and for 90,000 metric tonnes per annum of green hydrogen production under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) scheme of the Government of India.
In the same month, Waaree Energies Limited commenced commercial production at its 1,400 MW monocrystalline PERC (mono PERC) solar cell manufacturing facility in Chikhli, Gujarat, marking the first phase of its planned 5,400 MW solar cell manufacturing facility.
