Avaada and Casale join hands to develop 1,500 TPD green ammonia plant in Odisha

Avaada Group has partnered with Casale to develop a 1,500 tonnes per day (TPD) green ammonia plant in Gopalpur, Odisha. The facility will be powered entirely by renewable energy and will utilise Casale’s ammonia production technology to ensure a carbon-free process. Casale will provide the Green Ammonia Process Licence, Basic Engineering Package, Proprietary Equipment, and conduct a Detailed Engineering review.

The Gopalpur facility aims to replace fossil fuel-based ammonia production with renewable energy, significantly reducing carbon emissions while enhancing India’s leadership in clean energy solutions. Reportedly, Casale has now licensed a total green ammonia capacity of 5,700 TPD in India.

In January 2025, Avaada Group secured Rs 85 billion in financing and refinancing for nine projects across its business divisions, including utility-scale solar, agrivoltaic under PM-KUSUM, merchant power, C&I solar, and solar module manufacturing, with funding from public-sector banks like SBI and Union Bank, financial institutions such as NABFID and PFC, and private or multinational lenders including Standard Chartered, Axis Bank, Yes Bank, Tata Capital, Aseem Infra, and NIIF.
