Apraava Energy commissions 250.7 MW wind project in Gujarat

Apraava Energy has commissioned a 250.7 MW wind power project in the Sidhpur region of Devbhoomi Dwarka district, Gujarat. The project, awarded under the Tranche VIII wind tender by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), consists of 120 wind turbine generators supplied by Suzlon, each with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW. With this addition, Apraava Energy’s operational wind portfolio now stands at approximately 1,200 MW.

The Sidhpur wind project has secured a 25-year power purchase agreement with SECI at a tariff of Rs 2.83 per kWh. Additionally, the project incorporates fire suppression systems and condition monitoring systems for wind turbine generators to enhance safety and efficiency. Furthermore, Apraava Energy has undertaken community development initiatives in the Sidhpur region, covering 12 villages with a focus on livelihood, water and sanitation, and women’s empowerment.

In September 2024, Apraava Energy secured an interstate transmission project in Rajasthan, involving approximately 200 km of 400 kV and 765 kV transmission lines, a 765/400 kV, 4×1,500 MVA, and a 400/220 kV, 5×500 MVA pooling station to evacuate 5.5 GW of renewable power from Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Zone Phase IV, covering Jaisalmer and Barmer, as part of the interstate green energy corridor, with the special purpose vehicle of the project transferred by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited.
