ACWA Power & Snam ink MoU for green hydrogen development in Europe

ACWA Power has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Snam to explore potential collaboration and joint investments. This partnership aims to establish a green hydrogen supply chain from Saudi Arabia to Europe. This international supply chain will be dependable and cost-effective.

Furthermore, this partnership includes plans to evaluate the development of an ammonia import terminal in Italy to support the delivery of green hydrogen. The terminal will facilitate supply through the South H2 Corridor. This corridor will be a 3,300 km-long route connecting central Europe via Italy, Austria, and Germany.

In June 2024, ACWA Power signed a MoU with the Tunisian Government represented by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy to explore the potential for a green hydrogen project. The project aims to produce up to 600,000 tonnes per year of green hydrogen in three phases, for export to Europe.
