European Energy and Kragerup Estate collaborate for BESS project in Denmark

European Energy in collaboration with Kragerup Estate has initiated its large-scale battery storage project. This is European Energy’s first project in Denmark and will allow it to manage increasing volumes of renewable energy generated in the country. The battery is expected to begin test operations in the first quarter of 2025.

Furthermore, it will have an initial capacity of 3.75 MW, with the option to upgrade to a 7.5 MW capacity. It will have the capability to supply electricity to a significant number of European households for up to eight hours when fully charged. Additionally, the battery will offer crucial system services to help balance the power grid in eastern Denmark.

European Energy is a Denmark-based company that develops, constructs, and operates wind and solar farms all around the world. They aim to be a major global force in driving the green transition. The company has constructed approximately 2 GW of wind and solar PV farms.
