Indian Gas Exchange Limited (IGX) and Central European Gas Hub AG (CEGH) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on developing natural gas and renewable gas markets. IGX, India’s authorised natural gas exchange, and CEGH, a leading gas hub operator in Central and Eastern Europe, aim to leverage their respective market expertise to enhance technical, operational, and regulatory capabilities.
The partnership focuses on trading natural gas and renewable gases, including hydrogen, biomethane, and e-methane, along with commodity-related certificates. Both parties will share insights from the Indian and European gas markets and implement international best practices to create a liquid and transparent gas trading environment. They also intend to develop trading platforms for emerging green gases and support gas hub operations in India.
Additionally, tailored training programmes, workshops, and certification courses will be developed to upskill market participants, regulators, and stakeholders in India. The MoU also seeks to explore commercial opportunities for market expansion and innovative trading products.
