NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has signed a MoU with Deendayal Port Authority to set up a green hydrogen fueling station and deploy 11 hydrogen-powered buses at Kandla Port in Gujarat. This initiative aims to phase out fossil fuel-based buses at the port, promoting clean energy solutions and contributing to decarbonisation and energy security.
In December 2024, NTPC signed a tripartite MoU with GRIDCO and CRUT to establish a green hydrogen fueling station and deploy hydrogen-powered buses in Bhubaneswar, promoting decarbonisation and energy security with partial funding from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
In November 2024, NTPC launched a fleet of hydrogen-powered buses in Leh, supported by a 1.7 MW solar plant and an 80 kg/day green hydrogen station.
