ReNew commissions 750 MW of 1 GW solar project in Rajasthan

ReNew has commissioned 750 MW of its 1 GW solar project in Rajasthan, with the remaining 225 MW expected to be operational by January 2025. The project is being developed in partnership with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) through three Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and is designed to supply clean energy exclusively to Rajasthan.

Developed as part of the Make in India initiative, the project uses solar panels manufactured locally in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and Dholera, Gujarat. The project has a strong focus on localisation, with 90 per cent of the solar panels manufactured in Rajasthan and all panels produced in India.

In July 2024, ReNew inaugurated a 400 MW solar project in Pokran and Bhaniyana, Jaisalmer, as part of a 600 MW initiative under a PPA with SECI to generate clean energy in Rajasthan for 25 years. Currently, the company has invested Rs 210 billion in completed and under-construction projects across the state, with plans to scale this investment to Rs 620 billion by 2030.
