The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT) have signed a MoU to advance renewable energy, decarbonisation, energy efficiency, and environmental compliance across Maharashtra. Under the partnership, the focus will be on facilitating renewable energy projects, enabling industries to implement decarbonisation practices, and introducing energy efficiency measures across large-scale industries and small and medium enterprises.
Furthermore, the collaboration will also work to ensure environmental compliance in line with existing government policies. The agreement also seeks to aggregate demand across multiple sectors to make sustainability solutions more affordable and accessible, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
In May 2024, MAHAPREIT signed an MoU with NTPC Green Energy Limited to develop grid-connected clean energy projects in Maharashtra with a combined capacity of up to 10 GW, including wind, solar, and hybrid systems.
