TGREDCO floats tender to empanel EPC for 1 GW solar projects

Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TGREDCO) has floated a tender for empanelment for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors to set up grid connected solar projects. Each plant should have a capacity of 1 MW with the cumulative capacity being 1,000 MW. The last date of bid submission is December 10, 2024.

According to the tender guidelines, bidders have to furnish a bid document fee of Rs 29,500 and a refundable empanelment deposit of Rs 500,000. Additionally, they must submit 10 per cent of the total work order value as a security deposit. The empanelment period will be valid for one year. Furthermore, bidders must provide a Remote Monitoring System, a five-year comprehensive warranty, and one year of comprehensive operation and maintenance from the commissioning date.

The scope of the work includes the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and remote monitoring system for the 1 MW solar plants in various places across Telangana. The modules used must comply with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) and come with a linear degradation warranty. The modules are required to guarantee a minimum of 80 per cent of their initial rated power output at the end of 25 years, excluding the first year.

To qualify, bidders must have a minimum of one year of experience in installing grid-connected ground-mounted solar projects. Additionally, they should have completed and commissioned at least 1 MW of grid-connected ground-mounted solar projects with 33/11 kV evacuation over the last three financial years. The financial criteria include a minimum turnover of Rs 30 million ($356,049) in any year during the last three financial years. Moreover, bidders must demonstrate a turnover of Rs 30 million ($356,049) per MW or provide an equivalent work order value for the total cumulative capacity they propose to undertake.

In November 2024, Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana (TGNPDCL) floated tenders for a 1 MW solar project in Karimnagar and a 2 MW project in Sircilla, with a December 12, 2024, bid submission deadline; the scope includes supply, installation, commissioning, and five years of maintenance using mono PERC cells with over 20.9 per cent efficiency, to be completed within six months.
