The Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) has issued a tender for the design, engineering, procurement, and commissioning of a 10 MW grid-connected solar power project at Lakhanpur, under Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL). The successful bidder will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the project for a period of ten years. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 585.2 million. The last date for bid submission is December 14, 2024. According to the tender guidelines, interested bidders must submit a deposit of Rs 35 million.. The winning bidder must furnish performance security equivalent to 5 per cent of the contract value within 21 days of receiving the letter of award.
The eligibility criteria require bidders to have completed one of the following within the last seven years: three similar works, each costing at least 20 per cent of the estimated cost; two similar works, each costing at least 25 per cent; or one similar work costing at least 40 per cent. Similar works include the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of grid-connected solar power projects, including ground-mounted, rooftop, and floating installations. Additionally, bidders must demonstrate an average annual financial turnover of at least 30 per cent of the tender’s estimated cost over the last three financial years, up to March 31, 2024. They must also have working capital equivalent to at least 20 per cent of the estimated cost or annualised value, supported by access to lines of credit or other financial resources.
In October 2024, CMPDI floated a tender for a 5 MW floating solar project for Eastern Coalfields at Dalmia OCP, West Bengal, with an estimated tender value of Rs 310.14 million to be commissioned within 270 days and maintained for five years.
