Elapath Energy and RenewableErgon to launch 150 MW solar project in Taiwan

Elapath Energy and RenewableErgon have to develop a 150 MW solar project in Budai, Chiayi County, Taiwan. This $250 million project aims to begin its first phase of work in December 2024 upon receiving pending regulatory approval from Taiwan’s Energy Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). The project completion is expected by February 2025.

RzenewableErgon is a blockchain-based platform that leverages smart contracts, dynamic electricity pricing, and investment options in renewable energy projects. It has collaborated on large-scale solar initiatives in Cambodia, Singapore, and Taiwan, offering investors the opportunity to buy energy shares per kwh with a minimum investment of $5,000.

In April 2024, Taiwan’s renewable energy sector achieved a significant milestone with a major development deal between GreenRock Energy, a Taiwanese renewable energy firm, and Solarvest. The partnership was set to develop 1 GW of clean energy projects across Taiwan and Malaysia, signaling Taiwan’s strong commitment to accelerating its energy transition. In Taiwan, Solarvest is partnering with GreenRock Energy on large-scale agrivoltaic and aquavoltaic projects, aiming for a total capacity of 500 MW.
