ORLEN Wind 3, a subsidiary of the ORLEN Group, has successfully closed an acquisition with EDP Renewables Polska for two solar PV farms in the Zielona Góra and Poznań regions and a wind farm in the Łódź Province. This acquisition boosts the Group’s renewable energy generation capacity by over 300 MW. The newly acquired assets are expected to generate up to 400 GWh annually, enough to power nearly 182,000 households.
The first PV farm, a 40 MWp facility in Chotków, Zielona Góra, was launched in January 2023. The second, a 200 MWp farm in Przykona, Poznań, is undergoing an additional 40 MWp expansion, scheduled for completion this year. Recent expansions also include a 3 MW solar PV system at the Ostrów Wielkopolski fuel terminal and agreements for Opalenica and Sompolno projects, adding 58 MW. The acquisition also includes the Warta onshore wind farm, a 26 MW facility in a high-wind area in the Łódź region, enhancing energy production.
Earlier this year, ORLEN Group’s affiliate, Energa Wytwarzanie, in partnership with Northland Power, launched Baltic Offshore Service Solution, a new company dedicated to providing offshore wind services across Poland.
