The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued an expression of interest (EoI) for vendors under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The scheme has a target of 10 million residential rooftop solar installations by March 2027. The MNRE aims to expand the network of registered vendors to speed up residential rooftop solar installations. The scheme has a network of over 8,000 vendors with aims to expand to 25,000 vendors.
Further, REC Limited’s vendor management division will support vendors through weekly interactions, dedicated email support, and capacity-building programs. They will also inform the interested individuals and companies about the details of the scheme and detailed role of the vendor in it along with getting them registered on the National Portal.
A registered vendor plays an important role in the entire lifecycle of rooftop solar installations, from system design and component supply to installation, commissioning, and comprehensive maintenance contract for 5 years. The scheme ensures a streamlined process through the National Portal for efficient implementation. The government is dedicated to enhancing the vendor experience by addressing concerns, providing clear guidelines, and simplifying processes.
