NHPC invites bids for 1.2 GW solar power project

NHPC has floated a tender for setting up 1.2 GW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power projects across India, with greenshoe option capacity (Tranche-IX). The projects can be set up anywhere in India. The last date for submitting bids is November 4, 2024.

According to the tender guidelines, bidders have to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 942,000 per MW. The selected bidders have to submit a performance bank guarantee of Rs 2.35 million per MW. The processing fee for the quoted capacity is as follows is Rs 300,000 plus 18 per cent GST (till 50 MW), Rs 500,000 plus 18 per cent GST (between 50 MW and 100 MW), Rs 1 million plus 18 per cent GST (between 100 and 250 MW), Rs 2 million plus 18 per cent GST (between 250 and 500 MW) and Rs 3 million plus 18 per cent GST (above 500 MW).

The maximum capacity is 600 MW for one bidder, increasing to 1200 MW with the greenshoe option. For projects in northeastern states and special category areas, the minimum contracted capacity a bidder can offer is 30 MW.

In September 2024, NHPC Limited floated a tender for the development of 7.68 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power systems under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
