The Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), a subsidiary of Coal India, has invited bids to set up a 5 MW grid-connected floating solar project for Eastern Coalfields. The project will be set up at the quarry sump of Dalmia OCP in the Salanpur Area of West Bengal. The last date for bid submission is October 24, 2024.
The estimated tender value is Rs 310.14 million. Bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 3.87 million, and the selected bidder must provide 5 per cent of the contract amount as performance security within 21 days of the issuance of the letter of award. The project must be commissioned within 270 days of receiving the work order, with the developer being responsible for its operation and maintenance for five years.
According to the tender guidelines, bidders should have prior experience with the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and testing of grid-connected ground-mounted, rooftop, or floating solar projects. To qualify, they must have completed either three similar projects, each costing 20 per cent of the estimated tender value, or two similar projects, each costing 25 per cent of the estimated tender value or one similar project costing at least 40 per cent of the estimated tender value.
Additionally, bidders must have an average annual financial turnover of at least 30 per cent of the estimated project cost during the last three years. They are also required to provide a certificate confirming adequate working capital, which should be at least 20 per cent of the annualised or estimated project value, whichever is lower.
