Google has announced a partnership with Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions (CleanMax). In this partnership, CleanMax will establish a 125.4 MW hybrid project, of which 66 MW will be a solar power plant in Rajasthan and the remaining 59.4 MW will be fulfilled by a wind generation plant in Karnataka. The projects will be connected to the national grid of India. The aim of the partnership is to support Google’s decarbonisation of cloud services and offices in India.
It is expected that the projects will begin commercial operations from the fourth quarter in 2025 and generate an estimated 350,000 million kWh of carbon free energy annually. This will reduce carbon emissions by approximately 250,000 tonnes annually.
In September 2024, Orkla India entered into a partnership with CleanMax for the supply and generation of solar energy from a 6.6 MWp Solar Power Plant in Jagaluru, Karnataka. In April 2024, Clean Max and Apple forged collaboration to advance renewable energy initiatives in India. Clean Max successfully deployed 14.4 MW of rooftop solar panels across six industrial sites in India as part of the collaboration.
