NTPC floats tender DPR preparation of 800 MW PSP

NTPC Limited has floated a tender for the preparation of a detailed project report for an 800 MW pumped storage project (PSP) in Amba, Maharashtra. The last date for submission of bids is November 16, 2024.

According to the tender guidelines, bidders have to submit an earnest money deposit as a bid security of Rs 5 million. In the last three years, the bidders should have a minimum average annual turnover of Rs 189.7 million. As of the last day of the previous financial year, the net worth of the bidders should be at least 100 per cent of their paid-up share capital. The bidders may fulfil the net worth criteria through the financial strength of their subsidiaries or parent companies.

The scope of work involves preparing an international standard DPR that ensures maximum annual power generation at a competitive tariff. It should also consider efficient water usage and overall costs. Bidders must have experience in completing a DPR for at least one hydroelectric or pumped hydro storage project with a capacity of 100 MW or more within the past fifteen years. The DPR should encompass all necessary studies, analyses, and reports typically required by such agencies. Bidders from countries sharing a land border with India are eligible to participate in this tender.

In September 2024, NTPC commissioned a 160 MW solar project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan as a part of their 320 MW Bhainsara solar project. They also issued a tender for 1.2 GW of power supply with greenshoe option for an additional capacity of 600 MW from inter-state transmission system connected wind-solar hybrid projects in India.
