Surana Solar Limited has secured a letter of award (LoA) from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the development of a 54 MW solar photovoltaic project in Maharashtra. The project is part of the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojna 2.0, a scheme which is aimed at implementing solar energy at the feeder level under Component C of the PM-KUSUM Scheme.
The project will have a tariff rate of Rs 2.99 per kWh, with a subsidy of Rs 1.03 per MW. Surana Solar is expected to complete the project within 12 months from the date of the award. The power generated will be procured under a contract lasting 25 years from the project’s commissioning. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1.89 billion. To implement feeder level solarisation, MSEDCL will procure power from this project.
Earlier this month, MSEDCL signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) for a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).
