Hystar AS has selected thyssenkrupp automation engineering to undertake the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for Hystar’s automated electrolyser manufacturing line. The contract is for its GW factory in Høvik, Norway. The new production line is set to enhance efficiency significantly, boosting the current capacity from 100 MW to 4.5 GW.
Furthermore, the production facility, notable for its compact design, will require only 2,500 m² of space, which will accommodate stack assembly, quality control, and testing. Stack components will be sourced from a robust, high-volume supply chain through established strategic suppliers, enabling Hystar to rapidly scale up its production capabilities.
In May 2024, Thyssenkrupp Nucera secured a contract to supply a 300 MW electrolyser for Cepsa’s green hydrogen facility in Spain. Under an agreement announced at the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam, Cepsa has awarded the electrolyser specialist a contract to provide a basic engineering design package and assist in the facility’s design and engineering process up to the final investment decision.
