NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, has issued a tender inviting bids for a 7.131 MW rooftop solar project. These projects will be grid-connected and located in different areas in Bihar and Jharkhand. These locations come under the central defence forces and ministry of home affairs, zone 1. The bids must be submitted by September 3, 2024 and will be opened on September 4, 2024. Only class-I and class-II local suppliers are eligible to bid for this tender.
The responsibilities include design, engineering, testing, preliminary roof assessment, water arrangements, electricity, security, and determination of optimal capacity for setting up solar projects. The winners of the tender are also expected to do the operations and maintenance (O&M) for the project for ten years. All bidders must submit a security amount of Rs 5 million and quote the operation and maintenance charges for the first year.
In January 2024, NVVN had floated a tender for 10 MW solar project for defence PSUs. In June 2023, it had commissioned its first rooftop solar photovoltaic project at IIT Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
