Jakson Green has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with NHPC Limited for 400 MW solar project. The project won at a tariff of Rs 2.53 per kWh has been secured through a competitive bidding process conducted by NHPC last year for central transmission utility connected projects across India. The project is set to be commissioned within 24 months of signing the PPA. The power purchased by NHPC over a 25-year period is intended for sale to discoms.
Situated in Rajasthan, the project will be linked to the central grid, with an anticipated clean energy output adequate to supply approximately 0.4 million households each year. It will help reduce nearly 752,000 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions annually and generate significant job opportunities during both construction and operation phases. This agreement brings Jakson Green’s total portfolio under development as an independent power producer to 1 GW.
In June 2024, Jakson Green bagged a flue gas CO2 to 4G ethanol project from NTPC Limited. The project is for a power plant located in Lara, Chhattisgarh.
