Serentica Renewables has invited expressions of interest (EoI) to develop inter-state transmission system connected battery energy storage systems (BESS) to deliver battery capacity of 800 MWh to Serentica’s round-the-clock (RTC) clean energy projects. Serentica is looking for global technical partners to provide advanced BESS that ensure reliable energy storage. The projects will include 200 MW/400 MWh of 2-hour storage and 100 MW/400 MWh of 4-hour storage, with a minimum 51 per cent ownership by the BESS provider. Serentica will purchase the storage capacity annually under a 12-year service agreement, commencing from June 2026. The bid submission deadline is June 30, 2024.
Serentica is presently implementing 4,000 MW of projects, aiming to provide 2,000 MW per year of RTC green energy to major industrial clients in India. The total portfolio will generate over 9 billion units of clean energy each year, reducing CO2 emissions by 8.5 million tonnes.
