NHPC issues EPC tender for 200 MW solar project

NHPC has issued a request for proposals for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package for 200 MW grid-connected solar projects. The projects will be developed in Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited renewable energy park at Khavda, Stage 3.

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to furnish earnest money deposit equaling Rs 78 billion. Within 28 days of receiving the award notification, the developers are required to submit performance security equaling 3 per cent of the contract price. The bid submission deadline is July 3, 2024.

To be eligible, bidders must be developers or possess expertise in designing, supplying, erecting, and commissioning solar projects with a combined installed capacity of 40 MW or more. One project must be of at least 10 MW, and it should have been operational for a minimum of six months before the bid opening date. Alternatively, bidders must have completed an industrial project, either as a developer or as an EPC contractor, with a value of Rs 1.5 billion in the past decade. Bidders must have experience completing a minimum of electrical substation with a voltage level of 33 kV or higher, incorporating equipment such as circuit breakers and power transformers of 33 kV or above, either as developers or EPC contractors.
