NTPC REL issues land and transmission package tender for 900 MW solar project

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has issued a request for proposals for land and power evacuation package to set up 900 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected solar project. The projects will be set up in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes obtaining 5 acres per MW land near Neemuch ISTS substation on a freehold or lease basis. The lease period must be at least 29 years and 11 months. Government-owned property can make up a maximum of 10 per cent of the total land. The bid submission deadline is July 10, 2024.

To be eligible, the chosen bidder must build an access road with proper signage leading to the pooling substation and ensure connectivity between plots, either independently or with state support. The winning bidder will be tasked with carrying out a topography survey of the land parcels and making any necessary adjustments, such as cutting or filling, to achieve 95 per cent compaction according to the standard proctor density test. Additionally, the bidder must ensure the land maintains an average slope of 10 per cent. The chosen bidder is required to construct a 220 kV/400 kV AIS pooling substation equipped with a power transformer, a substation automation system, and safety mechanisms to manage the planned capacity and required reactive power. This also involves setting up 33 kV pooling switchgear and carrying out all associated civil works for the substation, including the control room and switchgear structures.

The project includes designing and building an extra-high-voltage transmission line that will run from the pooling substation to the ISTS substation. Additionally, the chosen bidder will be responsible for three years of operations and maintenance services for the pooling substation, its related equipment, and the extra-high-voltage transmission line, encompassing the terminal bay at the ISTS end.
