REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has issued a request for proposals to develop 223 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected solar projects. To be set up anywhere in India, the projects will be set up as a part of flexibility in generating and scheduling of thermal-hydro power stations through bundling with the renewable energy and storage programme.
According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to furnish Rs 900,000 per MW as an earnest money deposit. With seven days before signing the power purchase agreement, the winning bidders are required to submit Rs 1.75 million per MW as a performance bank guarantee. The bid submission deadline is May 13, 2024.
A bidder, including its parent, affiliate, ultimate parent, or any group company, is allowed to submit only one bid, with a minimum and a maximum capacity of 50 MW and 223 MW, respectively. Bidders have the option to establish the total project capacity at a single site or divide it into multiple blocks, each with a capacity of 5 MW or more. At the ISTS interconnection, the minimum voltage requirement is 220 kV. The developer will be accountable for set up related to land and connectivity. Furthermore, RECPDCL has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
In December 2023, RECPDCL issued tender to develop 250 MW ISTS connected solar projects with a greenshoe option of additional 250 MW.
