Venkat Muvvala has had an extensive 35-year career in the power generation and infrastructure sectors. His expertise extends from concept to commissioning of renewable energy, transmission and distribution projects, as well as gas power projects, with a strong emphasis on optimising asset life cycles for improved performance and returns on investment.
Notably, Muvvala has spearheaded the development and execution of 2 GW of solar photovoltaic projects, 10 GW of gas-based power generation projects, and multiple transmission and distribution projects for state distribution companies and central public sector undertakings.

These challenges stem largely from ageing infrastructure and inadequate transmission network investments. In the wake of various global upheavals, In particular the Covid-19 pandemic, the energy sector has been grappling with additional impediments. Geopolitical disruptions in the supply chain have surfaced.
However, manufacturing of products under the government’s Make in India initiative has partly mitigated these challenges. Muvvala underscores the urgent need for the government to escalate efforts to drive the Make in India initiative, thus reaping substantive dividends for the economy and the nation.
