The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has extended the deadline for submitting research and development (R&D) proposals under the National Green Hydrogen Mission until April 27, 2024. This extension is expected to provide researchers and institutions with more time to submit high-quality proposals aimed at advancing the production of green hydrogen in India.
The original deadline for proposal submission was April 12, 2024. On March 15, 2024, MNRE issued a notification inviting proposals for the development of indigenous technology to promote the widespread development of green hydrogen and its derivatives in a cost-effective manner.
The R&D scheme under the Green Hydrogen Mission intends to foster collaboration between industry, academia, and government, while supporting various aspects of the green hydrogen value chain, including production, storage, compression, transportation, and utilisation. Additionally, the scheme aims to facilitate the commercialisation of technological innovations by providing necessary policy and regulatory support.
