Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has won the engineering, procurement, and construction contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India for a 100 MW floating solar project. The facility is to be constructed at Getalsud Dam in the Ranchi district of Jharkhand.
L&T’s responsibilities encompass the design, engineering, procurement, construction, assembly, testing, and commissioning of the solar plant, along with five years of operational and maintenance services. The expected timeframe for commissioning of the project is 12 months. The total project cost amounts to Rs 6.06 billion.
In May 2023, L&T announced the formation of L&T Green Energy Council, a think-tank comprising of eminent thought leaders, in a significant step towards building a global green energy business.
In April 2022, L&T signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay to collaborate on green hydrogen value chain research and development.
