Odisha announces investments worth Rs 40.67 billion in diverse sectors

The Odisha government has recently approved 22 new projects, at a total investment of Rs 40.67 billion. The projects encompass a range of sectors including green energy equipment, chemicals, textiles and apparel, metals, food processing, IT infrastructure, and others, demonstrating a holistic approach to industrial development.

Underscoring the expansion of the green energy sector, Waaree Clean Energy Solutions is planning to construct an electrolyser manufacturing facility in Khurda, involving an investment of Rs 4.35 billion, and is expected to generate approximately 300 job opportunities. Furthermore, within the power and renewable energy sector, Hindalco Industries Limited and Adani Total Energies Biomass Limited are poised to embark on ambitious initiatives in Koratpur and Sambalpur, underlining Odisha’s dedication to sustainable development.

In November 2023, the chief minister of Odisha approved 12 project proposals including, apparel and textiles, chemical, green ammonia, green hydrogen, petrochemical downstream, power, renewable energy, and steel with a total investment worth Rs 849.18 billion.
