NLC India Green Energy Limited, a subsidiary of NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has inked a power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for a 600 MW solar project. The project is located at Khavda solar park, Bhuj district, Gujarat. GUVNL will purchase all the electricity generated by the project, with a power purchase agreement tariff set at Rs. 2.705 per kWh.
The project is expected to produce an annual electricity generation of 1,577.88 million units, amounting to a cumulative generation of 39.447 billion units over its lifetime. Throughout its entire lifespan, the project is anticipated to mitigate around 35.5 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
Recently, in February 2024, NLC India Limited issued a tender to supply solar modules of capacity 393.9 MW, for Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited’s solar park in Khavda, Gujarat.
In January 2024, NLCIL issued a tender to commission 100 MW inter-state transmission system connected solar projects in India.
In October 2023, NLCIL established a wholly-owned subsidiary, NLC India Green Energy Limited.
