Dubai-based Floating Man has developed an innovative structure for offshore floating solar applications. According to the company’s statement, the structure has a 30-year lifespan and can withstand winds of up to 160 km per hour. Further, developers can also install the panels at any angle, including bifacial modules. The structure features a steel structure and corrosion-resistant coating, and will be supported by 30 floating pontoons. The dimensions of each floating platform are 900 sq. m x 32 m x 28.12 m. Up to 200 solar modules with a maximum capacity of 700 W can be supported; the overall weight of the system, including the panels, is 50,000 kg.
