NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), on behalf of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), has issued request for proposals for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), including land, for setting up inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected solar projects of capacity 300 MW. The projects will be set up anywhere in India.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes the identification, acquisition, and full transfer of ownership or lease of unencumbered land to NEEPCO. Additionally, the developer is required to identify and facilitate grid connectivity to the ISTS substation. Together with conducting performance tests to ensure guaranteed generation at the interconnection point, the developer will assume responsibility for all EPC tasks for the project. The developer will be accountable for operations and maintenance of the project for the period of three years. The bid submission deadline is February 27, 2024.
To be eligible, prospective bidders must have experience in either developing, designing, supplying, erecting, or overseeing the commissioning of grid-connected solar power projects with an aggregate capacity of 40 MW or more. Among these projects, at least one should be of 10 MW or greater capacity at a single location, and it should have been operational for a minimum of six months prior to the bid opening date. Alternatively, they must have completed an industrial project within the last ten years, acting either as a developer or an EPC contractor. These projects should be in the domains of power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertiliser, cement, coal mining, or any other process industry. The requirement for a six-month successful operation applies to projects in the renewable energy sector, specifically solar or wind. For industrial projects outside the renewable energy sector, the criterion extends to a one-year operational period.
Recently, in January 2024, NGEL, on behalf of Indian Oil NTPC Green Energy Limited, has issued tender for the EPC of ISTS connected solar projects of 200 MW capacity.
