CIP achieves FID for a 300 MW onshore wind project

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), in partnership with Viviid Renewables (Viviid), an Indian developer and balance-of-plant service provider, achieved the final investment decision (FID) for a 300 MW onshore wind project in India through its growth markets fund I.

Situated in Karnataka, benefiting from favorable wind conditions, convenient site accessibility, and an existing grid connection nearby, the project’s construction is anticipated to conclude by the end of 2025. In addition to the FID, CIP also signed a foundation and crane supply contract with Sanghvi Movers and a turbine supply deal for the EN 156 3.3 MW turbines with Envision Wind Power Technologies. In addition to holding a minority ownership stake in the project, Viviid will perform balance-of-plant works and services.

In October 2023, Envision Energy secured a contract from JSW Energy to set up a wind energy park of 653.4 MW capacity in Karnataka and Maharashtra.

In June 2023, Envision Energy signed a 350 MW wind energy contract with Serentica Renewables. The project would be established in Maharashtra and is anticipated to be operational by December 2024.
