DVC issues tender for 8 MW solar project

Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has issued a request for proposals for developing an 8 MW grid-connected ground-mounted solar power project. The project will be located at DVC Konar Dam at Konar Village, Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand. Monocrystalline technology will be used for solar deployment.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes designing, engineering, supplying, constructing, erecting, testing, and commissioning, including operations and maintenance for a period of five years. The bidders are required to furnish Rs 4.2 million as an earnest money deposit. The bid submission deadline is February 5, 2024.

The responsibilities of the chosen developer encompass performing a feasibility analysis for a grid-connected rooftop solar system intended for placement on the roofs of the main control room buildings. The system’s capacity will be established in the detailed design and engineering phase, considering the available rooftop space.

In February 2023, DVC requested bids from the engineering, procurement, and construction firms to commission an 8 MW ground-mounted solar power project in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, along with associated systems such as the power evacuation system.

In January 2023, DVC estimated 2 GW of floating solar potential across reservoirs at its Maithon, Panchet, Tilaiya, and Konar dams in Jharkhand.
