Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) has issued a request for proposals for developing solar power projects with a combined capacity of 50 MW. The projects will be situated at various locations in Himachal Pradesh.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes land development, designing, engineering, equipment and material procurement, supplying, packing and forwarding, transportation, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning, including operations and maintenance for a period of eight years. The bid submission deadline is January 23, 2024.
Recently, in November 2023, World Bank signed a $200 million project with the government of India and the government of Himachal Pradesh to facilitate power sector reforms and increase the share of renewable energy in Himachal Pradesh’s electricity generation.
In March 2023, the Himachal Pradesh government signed a MoU with HLC Green Energy Limited to make it the ‘First Green State’ by 2025. The project would bring in an investment of more than Rs 40 billion and would help in generating direct and indirect employment opportunities for about 2,500 persons.
