H2 Energy Europe has received government funding for its 20 MW electrolytic hydrogen production facility at the port of Milford Haven, in South Wales. H2 Energy Europe is a developer of large-scale green hydrogen eco-systems. This project has been chosen for financial support as part of the UK government’s Hydrogen Business Model and Net Zero Hydrogen Fund.
The planning permission for the facility has been secured. Meanwhile, the funding agreement is anticipated to be signed in January 2024 with the final investment decision expected in the first quarter of 2024, with commissioning in 2026. This project will help industries to decarbonise and transition to green hydrogen that is produced domestic renewable energy sources. This green hydrogen will be used for various applications including shipping and industrial power. Further, it will also be used as a chemical feedstock.
