Grid Corporation of Odisha (GRIDCO) has issued a request for proposals for delivering power from 500 MW solar projects with an additional greenshoe option, which will be determined by GRIDCO only.
According to the tender guidelines, the bidders can offtake energy from GRIDCO at delivery point from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2030. The bidders are required to furnish Rs 500,000 per MW as an earnest money deposit. Within 30 days of receiving the letter of award, the winning bidders are required to submit Rs 1 million per MW as a contract performance guarantee. The bidders can offer minimum and maximum bid of 10 MW and 250 MW, respectively. The bid submission deadline is January 16, 2024.
In June 2023, NHPC Limited signed a MoU with GRIDCO, Government of Odisha, for development of pumped storage projects and renewable energy in Odisha.
In February 2023, Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited signed a power sale agreement with the GRIDCO for 400 MW of wind power from projects connected to the inter-state transmission system in Karnataka and Gujarat.
