Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has signed a power delivery agreement (PDA) with Force Motors Limited and Jaya Hind Industries. The objective is to deliver clean power for 25 years as a part of group captive scheme. The collaboration represents a noteworthy step in the progress of sustainable energy solutions designed for industrial applications.
According to the agreement, Force Motors Limited, will use power generated from a 6.2 MW AC plant, with an annual power consumption of 13.64 million units (MUs). Meanwhile, Jaya Hind Industries will utilise power from 7 MW AC plant, with an annual power consumption of 15.4 MUs. Situated in Achegaon, Maharashtra, the solar facility under the group captive scheme has a 13.2 MW AC capacity, producing an annual power output of 29.04 MUs and is expected to decrease carbon emissions by approximately 21,200 metric tonnes annually. The project is anticipated to be finished within 12 months from the PDA being signed.
TPREL will manage the planning, administration, and upkeep of the solar facility under group captive ownership. The plant would provide clean, reliable electricity to Force Motors Limited and Jaya Hind Industries Private Limited, giving them the opportunity to support environmental sustainability.
In November 2023, TPREL secured a letter of award from SJVN Limited to set up a 200 MW firm and dispatchable clean power with an additional greenshoe option.
In the same month, TPREL achieved a group captive project capacity of over 1.4 GW within the past seven months, attributed to the execution of power delivery agreements with diverse industries.
