NTPC REL issues land and EHV transmission package tender for up to 800 MW solar projects

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has issued a request for proposals (RfPs) for land and an extra high voltage (EHV) transmission package to set up to 800 MW inter-state transmission system connected solar projects. The projects will be set up in Maharashtra.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes obtaining 5 acres per MW land near Solapur region on a freehold or lease basis. The work also encompasses the required approach road up to the plant boundary, with interconnection between plots, whether established independently or through state machinery. The developer will also be responsible for conducting a topographic survey for the land plots. They will also need to perform any necessary excavation or filling of the land to achieve a 95 per cent compaction rate. This is to ensure that the average slope of the project land remains at 10 per cent. The bid submission deadline is January 16, 2024.

To be eligible, the bidders must have implemented grid-connected solar projects, solar parks, wind projects, wind parks, or a combination of these, with a total capacity of 100 MW or more. Among these projects, at least one project must have had a capacity of 50 MW or greater.

In November 2023, NTPC REL issues tender for balance of system package to set up 1,200 MW ISTS-connected wind projects with an additional greenshoe option of 300 MW in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. In the same month, NTPC REL issued BoS package tender for 1,080 MW ISTS connected wind project in Karnataka.
