Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) has issued a request for proposals (RfPs) for development of a 10 MW floating solar project. To be located on Phulwaria Dam, the project will be developed on the basis of renewable energy service company model.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes setting up a transmission network till the point of delivery, obtaining necessary approvals, permits, and clearances. The developer will enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the state power distribution companies. Within 30 days of receiving the letter of intent or before PPA signing, whichever is earlier, the developers are required to submit a performance bank guarantee equaling Rs 3 million per MW. The bid submission deadline is December 15, 2023.
The bidders must have commissioned solar projects of total 5 MW, including a minimum 1 MW project. Furthermore, BSPGCL has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
In October 2023, THDC India Limited issued RfPs for engineering, procurement, and construction of a 11 MW AC floating solar project at the Khurja super thermal plant site at Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.
In the same month, NTPC Limited issued RfPs for commissioning a 56 MW floating solar project at NTPC’S north Karanpura thermal power station in Jharkhand.
