Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has issued a request for proposals (RfPs) to develop 4.5 MW grid-connected rooftop solar projects on the buildings of BSNL. The projects will be developed as a part of renewable energy service company model. The project will be situated across various states and union territories which includes Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Sikkim, Tripura, and West Bengal.
According to the tender guideline, the bidders are required to furnish Rs 500 per kWp of the quoted capacity as an earnest money deposit. Before the signing of power purchase agreement, the developer is required to submit Rs 1,000 per kW of the allocated capacity as a performance bank guarantee. The bid submission deadline is December 11, 2023. Furthermore, BSNL has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
In August 2023, the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency called for bids to commission 5 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems under the Jammu Smart City Mission. In July 2023, North Central Railways requested bids for state-by-state empanelment of agencies to develop grid-connected rooftop solar power projects with a capacity of 5.525 MW at its various divisions and workshops.
