TPREL surpasses 1.4 GW of group captive projects

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has achieved a group captive project capacity of over 1.4 GW within the past seven months, attributed to the execution of power delivery agreements with diverse industries.

In the past six months, TPREL has entered into significant group captive projects, forming partnerships with entities such as ANAND Group, Chalet Hotels Limited, Endurance Technologies Limited, Mukand Limited, Neosym Industry Limited, Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India, Supreme Petrochem Limited, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Xpro India Limited, among others. Additionally, TPREL is poised to establish a 41 MW captive solar project to support Tata Power’s forthcoming 4.3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu.

On October 23, 2023, TPREL’s total renewable capacity reached 7,961 MW through these group captive projects. This includes 3,755 MW of projects in various stages of construction and 4,206 MW operational capacity, consisting of solar and wind projects capacity of 3,200 MW and 1,006 MW.

In October 2023, TPREL and Mukand Limited signed a power delivery agreement for a 43.75 MW AC group captive solar project at Jamkhed, Maharashtra.
