Gensol bags EPC contract for green hydrogen mobility station in Leh

Gensol Engineering Limited has bagged engineering, procurement and commissioning (EPC) contract from NHPC Limited for green hydrogen-based mobility station. The station is situated in Kargil, Ladakh. The mobility station is set to facilitate the functioning of buses powered by hydrogen fuel cells within the area.

Gensol bagged the project through a partnership with Matrix Gas and Renewables Limited. Gensol will undertake the development of a 500 kW grid-connected, ground-mounted solar power project aimed at providing energy to the hydrogen refueling station. Meanwhile, Matrix will be responsible for managing the EPC of two electrolysers, each having a capacity of 30 NM3.

Additionally, the scope of work entails the comprehensive EPC of the entire balance of plant, encompassing the installation of the green hydrogen system, storage, and dispensing facilities. Additionally, it includes the necessary civil and electrical infrastructure for the integrated solar and hydrogen operation in Ladakh. The project covers the entirety of the green hydrogen supply chain. Additionally, the project is expected to be commissioned within 12 months from receiving the work order.

Recently, in October 2023, Gensol secured a grid-connected 62 MW AC solar photovoltaic project from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited. The project will be located at Akola district of Maharashtra.
